This article analyzes Advisory Opinion No. 25, issued by the Permanent Court of International Justice on 15 November 1932 at its 26th session, which interprets Article 3 of Night Work (Women) Convention, 1919 (No. 4). This opinion is the only example of an interpretation of an ILO convention given by the Permanent Court of International Justice. It examines the main methods of interpreting this article, which helped the Permanent Court of International Justice reach its conclusion regarding the applicability of the provisions of Night Work (Women) Convention, 1919 (No. 4) to women in leadership and managerial positions not normally engaged in manual labour.

В статье анализируется Консультативное заключение № 25, вынесенное Постоянной палатой международного правосудия 15 ноября 1932 г. на 26-й сессии, в котором дается толкование статьи 3 Конвенции № 4 Международной организации труда «О труде женщин в ночное время». Указанное заключение является единственным примером толкования конвенции МОТ, данного Постоянной палатой международного правосудия. Рассмотрены основные способы толкования обозначенной статьи, с помощью которых Постоянная палата международного правосудия сформулировала вывод о применимости положений данной Конвенции к женщинам, занимающим руководящие и управленческие должности и обычно не занятым физическим трудом.
